The Resolutions [04 Jan 2010|02:00pm]

I have not made "resolutions" in quite some time, because I am pretty much always working on bettering myself.
I always try to find something to fix or better, etc.

This year was different.
It was good to use the New Year mark, as many do, to take inventory of my past year and figure out what will need some attention in the next.

Some are "Bigger" than others, but all of them important.
They sort of go back to the same general one, but I tried to stay specific to keep track.

1. Remember to maintain "Me" ...
I was very quick to fall into wifely roles, and "old married" habits.
This is the main one that sparked the others.

2. Yoga. I may not be completely regular at first, but I at least want to study it and learn more and try to do some weekly (but aim for daily). Wii Fit was a christmas gift this year, and I know that will get put to use too. My sister and I are going to see if we can do our aerobics online-wii together!
2a. More wii time!!! :)

3. Girl time. It will be good for my heart health. I'm going to be better about spending time with my girlfriends, and make sure to make plans, even for a quick drink or bite to eat. I'm starting with dinner this week with Christina, and a roadtrip to Houston next weekend for fun with Jamie. Jamie and Kat adventure weekends have not been tapped into since New Orleans, and while more lowkey than that weekend, fun will be had. In houston. Hahaha.

4. Music. Oh how I missed it. Brad and I got better at the year end about going to a show or two, and I hope it carries over. Also remembering that laundry can be getting done while on iTunes. No need to neglect making mixes, playlists, and exploring new stuff.

5. Food. The usual, I guess. Just trying to stick with my better eating habits, and maintain my current weight, or lose about 5 more. I'm fine with where I'm at, but wouldn't mind that extra 5 to be gone.

Anyway. Here they are. For reference, for accountability, and hopefully for looking back in a year and checking them off.

2010 is already off to an interesting start.
I'm eager to see what God has in store for me this year.
We have the big cruise in August, but we are hoping to take some small weekend trips for our birthday or something this year. We want to travel some this year - a little more/further than last year, anyway.

So thats that. I've been a little frustrated with balancing my friends/husband.
It's my biggest fix for this year.

Hello, 2010. I can't wait.

2009 has a been a fuckin' bust for the most part.

The first half was decent, this second half has been very questionable. I've met a couple new people which is great. I've reconnected with people I grew up with and that has been some of the few highlights of the year.

Last night I got pulled over for a brake light being out. I don't have my drivers' license. Mostly because the DMV wouldn't let me use either of our cars. One has a broken door and one had a cracked windshield.
Luckily the officer that pulled me over knows me and we've spoken a bunch of times. He kept making a point of telling me he really didn't want to do anything, but he has to. He gave me a ticket for not having an operators' license which was $287. Only $37 more than my stop sign ticket. hahaha. Anyway, he then told me, "i'm going to drive off and go park at the station and do some stuff. You do what you have to do". I got out and talked to some people since I got pulled over in front of the bar and several people I knew were standing out there. Then drove home.
Awesome. A fucking brake light.
I got lucky, though.

Murder City Devils on NYE. I got two tickets for $50. Not sure of any other plans.

I get my financial aid at the end of January and should be going back to school soon after, so hopefully moving back to portland and maybe things will change. Finish my diversion shit and get the fuck out of here.
